AHC20621 Certificate II in Parks and Gardens

PROGRAM OUTLINE:

This qualification describes the skills and knowledge for supporting job roles in the parks and gardens industry including garden labourer.

Individuals with this qualification carry out routine tasks under supervision where the work is predictable and structured with limited judgement requirements.

Work must comply with work health and safety and environmental regulations and legislation that apply to the workplace.

No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this qualification at the time of publication.

 

Successful completion of all units of competency will result in the award of a nationally recognised Certificate II in Parks and Gardens from the – Agriculture, Horticulture and Conservation and Land Management Training Package Agriculture, Horticulture and Conservation and Land Management Training Package. Participants who do not successfully complete the full program will be issued with a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment for any of the unit/s of competency they have been deemed competent in. AHCMOM203 - Operate basic machinery and equipment

1. Prepare basic machinery and equipment for use.

2. Operate basic machinery and equipment.

3. Check, clean and store basic machinery and equipment.

AHCPCM204 - Recognise plants

1. Prepare for plant recognition.

2. Recognise specified plants.

3. Identify plants.

AHCPGD207 - Plant trees and shrubs

1. Prepare for planting operations.

2. Prepare trees and shrubs for planting.

3. Inspect plants and report problems.

4. Install trees, shrubs and/or other plants.

5. Complete work.

AHCPGD208 - Prepare and maintain plant displays

1. Prepare the display site.

2. Install plants.

3. Complete installation work.

4. Maintain plant display.

AHCPGD209 - Prune shrubs and small trees

1. Identify pruning requirements.

2. Undertake pruning of shrubs and small trees.

3. Complete work.

AHCTRF208 - Support turf establishment

1. Prepare to establish a planted area.

2. Prepare the planting area.

3. Plant turf.

4. Provide post-planting care.

5. Complete establishment of the planted area.

AHCWHS201 - Participate in work health and safety processes

1. Follow workplace procedures for hazard identification and risk control.

2. Observe safe practices during work operations.

3. Participate in arrangements for maintaining the health and safety of all people in the workplace.
