The Certificate IV in Cyber Security is a technician level course. It provides participants with knowledge and a range of technical skills to enable them to seek employment as a cyber security technician in a range of organisations and government bodies.

Successful completion of all units of competency will result in the award of a nationally recognised Certificate in 22603VIC – Certificate IV in Cyber Security. Participants who do not successfully complete the full program will be issued with a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment for any of the unit/s of competency they have been deemed competent in. Prior Knowledge

 

To complete the 22603VIC Certificate IV in Cyber Security, it is recommended that applicants have prior knowledge in the below.

 

  • A basic understanding of Windows and Linux operating systems
  • A basic understanding of networking protocols, configuration of routers and switches including related protocols, command line configuration and IP addressing
  • Have intermediate literacy and numeracy skills
  • A basic understanding of and commitment to adhering to the legal frameworks surrounding cyber security including the Cybercrime Act 2001, the Spam Act 2003 (Cth), and the Cybercrime Act (Cth) which criminalises computer and internet related activities such as hacking, spreading viruses and website vandalism
