
This qualification reflects the role of cleaners responsible for undertaking a range of routine and non-routine tasks according to work schedules, liaising with clients and in some cases members of the public, and operating in a range of general residential and commercial settings as well as specialist cleaning environments. The cleaner may work alone, with or without supervision, and has responsibility for selecting, preparing and using appropriate cleaning methods for a range of cleaning situations while ensuring safe work practices.
To achieve this qualification, competency must be demonstrated in 14 units of competency including 5 core units and 9 elective units.
Core Units
CPPCLO3003 – Clean using safe work practices
CPPCLO3005 – Confirm and apply privacy and security requirements for cleaning work
CPPCLO3019 – Remove waste and recyclable materials
CPPCLO3035 – Maintain cleaning storage areas
CPPCMN3006 – Provide effective client service

Entry Requirements
There are no pre-requisites for entry to this qualification. Applicants will have basic fundamental knowledge and understanding of the Cleaning industry and effective communication skills (both written and verbal) including the capacity and ability to interact with team members, customers and staff, to read and the ability to write and communicate at the level needed to effectively communicate within the customer service environment.

- Demonstration / Observations
- Simulated Role Plays
- On job Log Book
Duration:
3-6 Months (depending on learner experience) and delivery schedule up to a maximum of 12 months.
Delivery modes may include:
- Face to face group sessions
- Tutorials
- Role plays/simulations
- Physical demonstrations
- Group work
- Self-directed learning using text or electronic materials
- Blended delivery. A combination of all of the above.
It is expected that applicants will have access to a workplace to complete their practical application and assessment. Practical elements may also be contextualised with the use of simulated activities within the classroom and the use of additional resources.
Assessment Requirements:
Assessment will include a written assessment at the conclusion of each unit, on job log book and practical demonstrations / observations.

Successful completion of all units of competency will result in the award of a nationally recognised CPP20617 Certificate III in Cleaning from the Property Services Package. Participants who do not successfully complete the full program will be issued with a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment for any of the unit/s of competency they have been deemed competent in.
